THIS IS A NEW TERM AT THE UTC AS THE STUDENTS RETURN, THEY HAVE NEW FORMS. ISAAC IS STUCK IN AN ONLINE RELATIONSHIP AND HAS DEVELOPS A CRUSH ON HIS NEW FRIEND NOAH AND JOINS THE FOOTBALL TEAM GOING AGAINST HIS FRIENDS ADVICE.

SCENE 1:

FADE IN:

INT SCOOL – DAY

[SCHOOL BELLS RING]

ISAAC enters classroom rushed looking at a note on his hand reading “New Form Room 3008”

MR G[VO]

Oh, Isaac, welcome back! 

ISAAC

[Out of breath] 

Thanks sir.

MR G

I hope you had a wonderful break. For the rest of the year you’ll be sat with Noah. So, either happy chatting or sit in silence for the rest of the year.

ISAAC

Great. Thanks.

[Isaac slumps over to his new seat and is nervous as he is sat next to the biggest player on the basketball team]

ISAAC

Hi.

NOAH

[blushes] Hi.

 

(MORE)

 

ISAAC

Hi.

[ISAAC knocks over NOAH’S drink]

Oh my god. I’m so-

 

 

NOAH

[Laughs]

It’s ok. Honestly don’t worry, this class needed some fun in it.

ISAAC

[Blushes]

True.

[pause] [looks around class as the class is quiet]

But I do feel bad, after all I just met you.

 

[School bell rings]

 

 

CUT TO:

 

 INT

The two walk to Film Studies together as they establish a new bond.

[Indistinct chatter]

NOAH

[Smiles]

See you later.

ISAAC

[School bell rings]

FADE OUT.

SCENE 2: BREAK

The camera cuts to an establishing shot of the school

[DISTANT CHATTING AND RUNNING]

THE CAMERA PANS DOWN THE SCHOOL INTO SHOT OF ISAAC WITH HIS FRIENDS ALICE AND ELLIE

ISAAC

Guys. Help me, dear Goddddd

ALICE

[laughs]

It sounds like someone is having a mid-life crisis

ISAAC

No it’s genuinely not funny. Im sat next to the star of the football team and I can’t deal with it.

ELLIE

[Laughs]

I’m sorry but that’s funny. 

ISAAC

He’s actually really cute and I don’t know how to feel; I love JUSTIN, but I don’t think I have the connection I thought.

ALICE

This is exactly why I hate relationships.

(MORE)

ISAAC

[SIGHING AND SLUMPING]

I have a lot of thinking to do.

[School bells ring again to signal the end of the day

 

Scene 3:

INT HOUSE – EVENING

School bells ring to signal the start of a new day with an establishing shot of the school, and the scene transitions into ISAAC, ALICE and ELLIE at their lockers. ISAAC and ALICE are convinced that NOAH is straight and they talk about scenarios.

ISAAC

 [slams locker and gets scared by Alice and Ellie hiding behind his locker] AH! STOP THAT IT’S NOT FUNNY. 

 

ALICE

[Laughing] God you should’ve seen your face.

ELLIE

[Laughing] 

ISAAC

[ISAAC looks sad as he feels guilty for his boyfriend but can’t help how he feels]

I just don’t feel good today. I’m sorry.

ALICE

It’s okay. I wouldn’t think about him though because he is the straightest person in the school.

I know. (Looks down at the ground) but I can’t help myself. I just feel like I’m playing myself.

 

[School bell rings]

 

 

CUT TO:

Scene 4

 INT

ISAAC receives a message from his boyfriend on Instagram but decides to ignore them.

Isaac closes Instagram and opens Apple Music

“Bags” by Clairo begins playing

Isaac jumps into bed as the song plays. After the song finishes he jumps up again and call his current boyfriend.

ISAAC

Hi, listen I’m really sorry. I don’t think this is working. I just can’t continue a relationship this way. I feel like im not getting the person who I wanted, or the happiness I deserve. I don’t think you even told your friends about me, always hiding me away, always shutting me out, you never once took the risk of coming out to see me. It’s not fair and im done with it.

[Call ends]

FADE OUT.

 

 

 

Scene 5:

INT HOUSE – MORNING

ISAAC wakes up ready for school.

 

 [shower on]

[shower running]

[Shower stops] 

ISAAC

[Leaving house] Goodbye dad. I’ll be back as soon as I can after school.

DAD

See you soon son, have a good day, ok?

ISAAC

[Stutters] y-yeah, thanks dad. Love you.

[door slams]

ALICE
